dc.description.abstractFood insecurity has been one of the major calamities that faces Tanzania as one the developing countries. Food insecurity is not only the lack of food but also go far beyond availability, accessibility nutritious, at all times, at all places. The rural communities in Tanzania are mostly affected by the presence of food insecurity to a large extent. Food insecurity not only affects the affects in all sectors politically, socially and economically. This study is about the impacts of food insecurity on women in income generating activities in rural communities at the household level in Chamwino. In particular, it focuses on individual women entrepreneur, housewives and women who do not have strong production and marketing advantages and links. This study, therefore tries to show hoe food insecurity impacts women on income generating activities and to draw solutions on the way to solve the problem so that rural areas, urban and the nation at large to be safe from food insecurity to a large extent
